Fue uno de los dirigentes claves de IPS. Fund\u00f3 la oficina de IPS en las Naciones Unidas, y bajo su liderazgo, IPS se convirti\u00f3 en una de las principales operaciones de medios informativos en el sistema de las Naciones Unidas.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Hizo acuerdos con pr\u00e1cticamente todas las agencias y fondos en Nueva York, y se convirti\u00f3 en una referencia para los secretarios generales de la ONU, desde Kurt Waldheim hasta Kofi Annan, asi como \u00a0para los medios de comunicaci\u00f3n. En la oficina de IPS en las Naciones Unidas, cerca de 50 j\u00f3venes futuros reporteros hicieron su formaci\u00f3n, convirti\u00e9ndose en periodistas establecidos. Uno de ellos es ahora el portavoz del secretario general.<\/p>\n<p>En 2008, pese a que su salud ya estaba fragilizada, no dud\u00f3 en apoyar nuestro nuevo proyecto y se destac\u00f3 entre los fundadores de Other News.<\/p>\n<p>Como enfatiza nuestro amigo com\u00fan, el periodista noruego Halle J\u00f8rn Hanssen, corresponsal de televisi\u00f3n, administrador de ayuda al desarrollo y pol\u00edtico, Marco fue un verdadero defensor de la misi\u00f3n y el trabajo de IPS.<\/p>\n<p>Mario Dujisin, actualmente editor de Other News, como corresponsal- jefe en la ONU en 1980, comparti\u00f3 con Marco el desaf\u00edo de construir un equipo de periodistas ese a\u00f1o en Nueva York, iniciando una s\u00f3lida amistad que perdur\u00f3 para siempre. Hasta hoy, Mario recuerda el apoyo total para \u00e9l y su familia desde que se establecieron en Nueva York, la extrema generosidad, la inmensa capacidad profesional y la lealtad absoluta de Marco \u00abCarmelino\u00bb Napoli.<\/p>\n<p>La familia de IPS lamenta su muerte, as\u00ed como personas de todo el mundo. Era un s\u00edmbolo de lealtad, compromiso y la utop\u00eda de IPS.
