En su libro \u00ab<em>Inventar el futuro<\/em>\u00bb, identifica los desaf\u00edos urgentes que se plantean hoy en d\u00eda: la amenaza nuclear, el cambio clim\u00e1tico y la degradaci\u00f3n ambiental y el r\u00e1pido crecimiento de las desigualdades. Hace suyo el discurso en\u00e9rgico y juvenil de Greta Thunberg en favor del planeta y de las generaciones futuras, en el que se plantea la pregunta \u00ab\u00bf<em>C\u00f3mo se atreven<\/em>?\u00bb y se citan las palabras del ex presidente Obama: <em>\u00abSomos la primera generaci\u00f3n que tiene ante s\u00ed el reto del cambio clim\u00e1tico y la \u00faltima que puede hacerle frente\u00bb.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Esta importante publicaci\u00f3n coloca en un primer plano las cuestiones m\u00e1s acuciantes que se plantean en el marco del sistema multilateral, as\u00ed como a las mujeres y a los hombres que contribuyeron de forma significativa a mejorar la condici\u00f3n humana tales como Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela, Mijail Gorbachov y otros. En su calidad de Director General de la UNESCO, Federico Mayor tuvo la oportunidad de reunirse y de cooperar con cient\u00edficos, artistas, profesores, periodistas y escritores.
