DIRE) Roma, 15 nov. – “E’ enorme il desiderio delle varie
diaspore africane di poter essere qualcosa di piu’ di semplici
immigrati. Diaspore, poi, vuol dire ‘disperdere’, e crediamo sia
invece ora di riunire cio’ che e’ stato separato: legami
personali, culturali, professionalita’, storie”. Parola di Godwin
Chukwu, presidente della Federazione delle diaspore africane in
Italia (Fedai).
   L’Agenzia ‘Dire’ lo ha sentito in vista dell’appuntamento del
30 novembre, quando la Fedai festeggera’ a Roma il primo anno di
vita con un incontro dal titolo ‘L’Africa e’ davvero il nostro
futuro?’.
   “Discuteremo dell’Africa, chiedendo agli esponenti delle
diaspore se il continente da cui proveniamo rappresenti il nostro
avvenire” ha detto Chukwu. “Vogliamo che ne nasca un dibattito
con riflessioni, idee, ma anche critiche e proposte per
immaginare un futuro prospero, fondato anche su un rapporto tra
Africa e Italia piu’ stretto nella cooperazione in ambito
culturale, economica e sociale”.
   La Federazione, ha sottolineato il presidente, riunisce
persone che si conoscono da anni e che da tempo sognavano di
fondare un’istituzione capace di riunire tutti. “Vogliamo
riavvicinare cio’ che era lontano” ha detto Chukwu. “Al momento
hanno aderito 15 realta’, tra associazioni culturali e comunita’
della diaspora, dal Marocco alla Repubblica democratica del Congo
passando per Capo Verde. Con noi anche l’Associazione culturale
arancia donna subsahariana, con sede a Senigallia”.
   Tanti gli obiettivi da raggiungere, secondo il presidente:
“Coinvolgere le altre diaspore in Italia e in Europa, ragionando
anche su possibili incontri. A gran voce chiederemo al Comune di
Roma o allo Stato, tramite il ministero degli Affari esteri, di
sostenerci nella fondazione di un centro di cultura africana,
come gia’ esiste a Londra, Parigi o Berlino”.
   L’appuntamento per il 30 novembre, dalle 10 alle 16, e’ in
viale Regina Margherita 1.
